MacTown Nite is a variation on the MacTown color schemes for Kaleidoscope. When used with the desktop pattern and Icon Sets (available for download at the webpage), they allow you to create a virtual town on your desktop! The MacTown Nite scheme is just that: MacTown at Nite! It darkens the original scheme considerably, and has it's own set of desktop patterns to complete the after-dusk look (This file only includes one of the patterns - check out the webpage for more!).

**Starting with version 1.8 MacTown's numbering now reflects the currently supported version of Kaleidoscope.**
1.5: November, 1997
First release of MacTownNite includes support for OS8 accent colors and Windowshade sounds.
1.8: December, 1997
Added resources to make MacTown Nite completely compatible with Kaleidoscope 1.8 such as Window buttons and Pop-up Window resources, as well as a bunch of new system icons.
1.8.3: March, 1998
Added a few more System Icons (total of 40 now), and a few new Kaleidoscope 1.8.3 resources, such as the Disclosure Arrows. Fixed the Pop-Up tabs to make them a bit more unique - should all the windows look like this? We'll see in Kaleidoscope2.0...
How To make Use of the Street Desktop Pattern:
1. You need system 7 or higher.
2. Open the Desktop Patterns Control Panel.
3. Drag the "MacTown Streets" file onto the Desktop Patterns Window. The pattern should show up at the end of your list. Select Desktop Pattern!
Your desktop should now resemble some sort of intersection hell, with plenty of streets and yards to begin construction! Don't forget to check out the MacTown webpage for additional Street Patterns, too!
How To make Use of the Kaleidoscope Theme:
1. You need system 7 or higher and Kaleidoscope 1.7.x (latest versions downloadable at http://www.kaleidoscope.net ).
2. Place the "MacTownNite" scheme in the Kaleidoscope Color Schemes folder in your Extensions Folder in your System Folder.
3. Open the Kaleidoscope Control Panel.
4. Select "MacTownNite".

The use of the MacTown Nite color schemes and the icons provided with this set are for free, and I am constantly releasing new icon sets and scheme updates. Examples of things-in-the-works are Desktop Pictures, a MacTown custom cursor, MacTown Vol.3 Icon Set, a MacTown Construction Kit tht will enable you to make your own desktop pictures, and a Train Set of icons. Though the stuff is all free, 'registering' will make sure you recieve the MacTown Newsletter letting you know when things are released. So, send a postcard or something, okay? Better yet, send me your own MacTown icons! If I like 'em, I may include them in a future release of MacTown icons sets (credited to you, of course!).
